Getting back on track.

Official Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 key art

Real life has a habit of knocking you off course. I had some things happen outside the internet, lost my focus for a while, and stopped making much progress.

Not everything has changed, but I am feeling more focused now and ready to put that energy into something constructive again.

Picking the site back up

The last feature I was building was an image uploader and gallery. The functional part is working; it mainly needs a stronger design before I am comfortable adding it to the public side of the site.

After that, I need to do some brainstorming. I have several interests I could build around, but I would rather create something useful than add features merely to make the site look busier.

Games I have been playing

While development slowed down, I did spend some time with a few games.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

I finally played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it has become one of the best RPGs I have played. I am not a big fan of relying so heavily on dodge and parry mechanics, but I love turn-based RPGs and thought the story was excellent.

I have heard talk about Clair Obscur becoming a franchise. I do not know how firm those plans are, but I would not hesitate to play another installment.

Warframe

Before returning to Warframe, I had been away from the game for nearly a decade. During that hiatus, I spent a few months playing The First Descendant. I enjoyed parts of it, but it simply does not have the years of content that Warframe has built up.

Going back to Warframe reminded me how much there is to do, collect, and experiment with. It has since become my primary game for the last two years. I currently have more than 1,500 hours invested and am sitting at the maximum rank, so it is safe to say that I have spent a lot of time catching up in the Origin System.

TennoCon is coming up this weekend, so I am hoping we get some exciting announcements. The last major update was a little disappointing for me, which makes me even more curious about what Digital Extremes has planned next.

Path of Exile 2

The 0.5 update received enough attention that I finally decided to give Path of Exile 2 a try. My first experience was positive, but I want to spend time with future leagues before settling on a stronger opinion.

Diablo IV

Season 14 started last week, and once again I feel Blizzard could have done more with it. The two classes introduced with the expansion have felt underwhelming to me, while the Barbarian still seems to sit comfortably at the top. I was hoping for a more interesting balance.

That is enough ranting for one update. For now, I am glad to be working on the site again. Hopefully the next post will include something new that I have finished rather than a list of things I intend to finish.
